Strikeback 2

Sky1 HD

Starts Sunday 21 August

Based on the bestselling book by former SAS man Chris Ryan, the first series was an immediate hit, starring Richard Armitage (The Hobbit, Spooks) Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead, Teachers) and Orla Brady (Fringe, Mistresses) in an explosive tale of betrayal, glory, redemption and revenge, containing a tripwire of fiendish twists. The sequel builds on this success, significantly widening the scope and continuing Sky 1 HD's commitment to original drama. Marking the first-ever co-production between Sky and HBO/Cinemax,Strike Back 2 has been increased to ten parts and, with amped-up ambitions, is even bigger and better than before. Armitage resumes his role as John Porter and he's in a whole world of trouble, having been kidnapped. Help is on the way when Head of Section 20, Colonel Eleanor Grant (Amanda Mealing, Holby City), dispatches Sergeant Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester, Camelot, Fringe) to lead Porter's rescue. Together with former US Special Forces operative Damian Scott (Aussie newcomer Sullivan Stapleton), Stonebridge sets out to save his colleague and stop an international terrorist group plot. Filmed on location in South Africa and Hungary, and also airing in the US, prepare for another globe-trotting, adrenaline-fuelled adventure that will have viewers teetering on the edge of their seats.

Warehouse 13: Season 3

Syfy

Starts Thursday 4 August, 21.00

The number 13 may be unlucky for some, but it hasn't done anything to hold back the roaring success of this brilliant mystical powerhouse. We're excited to have this Emmy-nominated series back. It's a show that's got the lot - a great cast, great script and a great fanbase. And it's all thanks to a brilliant central idea. Warehouse 13 is a top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota that houses every strange artefact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and spooky souvenir ever collected by the US government. The big question on everyone's lips is - will agent Myka (Joanne Kelly) return for season 3, or has new kid on the block Steve Jinks (Aaron Ashmore, Smallville) become Pete's (Eddie McLintock) new partner? You might think that by saving the life of the President, you would earn yourself a cushy desk-job, but no. After United States Secret Service Agents Myka Bering and Peter Lattimer prevented an assassination, they found themselves abruptly transferred to the middle of nowhere, and ordered to report to mysterious caretaker Artie (Saul Rubinek). They quickly found that their new jobs were out of this world, and have spent the last two seasons trying to safeguard every mysterious and paranormal object ever collected by the US. That has seen the pair spend a lot of time chasing reports of supernatural and paranormal activity in search of new objects to cache at the Warehouse, as well as helping Artie control the volatile storage area itself. The show has been a huge hit with viewers and critics and returns for the eaglerly awaited third season.

The Geordie Shore housemates ‘are in there like swimwear' as MTV announced the cast will be packing their sunglasses, passports and suntan lotion as they swap the Diamond Strip for the disco lights of Magaluf to shoot two summer specials. Offering a touch of Geordie to one of the top clubbing destinations in Europe, our lads and lasses will no doubt love their summer in the sun. However if they thought it was just a 18-30's break ‘tashing on' and ‘getting mortled' - they were wrong - the cast will also be expected to earn their keep on the island as they work in a souvenir shop favoured by British tourists. The season premiere of Geordie Shore secured a ratings victory for MTV UK (attracting its highest audience ever), with an audience of 607K Adults and 359K 16-34s consolidated over the week. The successful launch made MTV the highest viewed channel in pay TV homes for 16-34s at this time.
