This is Jinsy

Sky Atlantic HD

TX tbc

From newcomers Chris Bran and Justin Chubb comes a truly original new comedy about the eccentric residents of the fictional island of Jinsy. Featuring a who's who of comic guest stars, from David Tennant and Harry Hill to Jennifer Saunders and Catherine Tate, This Is Jinsy is set to bring bags of off-kilter charm to British screens. Packed with surreal sketches and infectiously catchy songs, each episode follows the adventures of the island's pompous leader Arbiter Maven (Chubb) and his beleaguered sidekick Operative Sporall (Bran) as they enforce the wishes of The Great He, and generally find trouble at every turn. Based in the Great Tower in the parish of Veen, Maven and Sporall keep a close eye on the residents of Jinsy - all 791 of them. Life on the island, you see, is rather Orwellian: each colourful member of the community, from local folk dribbler Melody Lane to entrepreneur Oddric Fyson, is monitored by a surveillance system of tessellators (1,067 of them to be precise). But with their own lives as chaotic and unpredictable as a musical vest (don't ask), are they really the right men for the job? A pilot episode screened last year proved This Is Jinsy's potential, earning a prestigious Rose d'Or award nomination and praise from critics and industry insiders alike. Directed by BAFTA® winner Matt Lipsey (Little Britain, Psychoville), the series also features Peter Serafinowicz, Kevin Eldon, Don Warrington, Alice Lowe, Bryan Murphy, Colin Hoult, Geoff McGivern, Janine Duvitski, KT Tunstall, Marek Larwood and Simon Callow. Bouncing from one brilliantly bizarre moment to the next, This is Jinsy is wonderfully oddball comedy that has all the makings of a cult classic.

Glee: Season 3

Sky1 HD

TX tbc

The Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning musical comedy comes to Sky 1 HD with its third season, airing just days after its US broadcast. Glee is, quite simply, a pop culture phenomenon. An instant success when it launched in 2009, the series follows an Ohio high school teacher's efforts to inspire a group of oddball teenagers to realise their star potential and revitalise the school's show choir to its former glory. Also tackling issues such as sexuality, bullying and teen pregnancy, Glee ranges from the heart-felt to the hysterical. Led by Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), McKinley High's glee club, New Directions, is a group of social misfits. Ambitious star vocalist Rachel Berry (Lea Michele); the school's only openly gay student Kurt (Golden Globe® winner Chris Colfer); dimwitted dance supremo Brittany (Heather Morris); sexually confused Santana (Naya Rivera); and the physically disabled Artie (Kevin McHale) are just some of the kids who make up the group. Although all different, they share the same dream of fitting in and triumphing at the National Show Choir Championships. Season two saw the teens reach Nationals in New York, although on their adventure in the Big Apple they failed to rank in the top ten. But, their dreams are still alive as we enter this third run... Series co-creator, writer and executive producer Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck) has hinted at what we can look forward to. As well as welcoming the winner of reality show The Glee Project to the cast, this latest outing is set to give major storylines to powerhouse diva Mercedes (Amber Riley) and the loved-up Mike (Harry Shum Jr) and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz).
