Sky Atlantic HD today announced BLUE BLOODS will return to the channel with the UK premiere of season two on Tuesday 4 October at 10pm. The acclaimed US drama following the lives of a multi-generational family of New York cops returns for a second season, with Tom Selleck (Magnum PI) reprising his starring role as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.
His straight-talking father Henry (Len Cariou, Damages) is a former police commissioner; eldest son Danny (Donnie Wahlberg, Band of Brothers) causes concern as a seasoned detective and Iraq War veteran who often bends the rules of law enforcement; daughter Erin (Bridget Moynahan, Sex and the City) is an assistant DA and newly single parent; while youngest son and Harvard Law graduate Jamie (Will Estes, Boy Meets World) is a rookie cop.
The season premiere features guest appearances from country superstar Carrie Underwood and fellow Grammy® winner Tony Bennett, who perform a duet at a fund-raiser Frank and daughter Erin attend for the newly appointed mayor, Carter Poole (David Ramsey, Dexter). Season two also sees former Lie To Me star Monica Raymund join the cast.
Dramatic, compelling and gripping, the second series of BLUE BLOODS is executive produced by Ed Zuckerman and Leonard Goldberg. Other series regulars include Jennifer Esposito, Bruce Altman, Bobby Cannavale and Amy Carlson.
