Challenge and Pick get an exciting new look

From Monday 7th October viewers will see a brand new look and feel unveiled on free to air channels Challenge and Pick.

      The re-fresh introduces a family of animated characters to Challenge, the home of contest, who will feature in both the on and off air look and feel. 

      Each lovable character is designed to complement the fun vibrant collection of programming on the channel, from physical contest to game shows, with a character designed to introduce every classic and original programme.

      Buzzerhead never gets the answers right when he watches Challenge shows but enjoys classic series of Family Fortunes, Catchphrase and Supermarket Sweep. Tiny and Ellie can’t get enough of Challenges flagship physical shows, including TNA Impact Wrestling, Takeshi’s Castle, UK Strongest Man and Ninja Warrior. Cecil The Geek is always informative enjoying Eggheads and Gadget Geeks, while Les Play and Kitty Prize are fanatical about great contest entertainment like Blockbusters, Bullseye, Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. Theyare looking forward to the newly commissioned game show Timeline hosted byBrian Conely. Each character mirrors the wide breath of programming across the channel and each member of ‘The Challangers’ will appear before their favorite show in new channel idents.

      On the same day, Pick TV will also receive a refreshing new look launching as PICK onscreen. The channel will also unveil a set of idents which will reflect the dynamic and surprising cross section of factual, observational and real life content which continues to prove popular among customers including; UK Border Force, Nothing to Declare and Children’s Hospital.

With its mix of nostalgic, modern and high-energy shows we know Challenge is jam-packed with series viewers feel passionate about. Our new animated family of characters are equally fanatical about the content and this is reflected in how they present the channel in a funny, memorable and energetic way. The new look for PICK is designed to reflect a ‘slice of life’ and helps affirm its position as a key Freeview channel for both observational documentary and entertainment series.”     

      Piers Helm and Stephanie Porters, Creative Directors at CREATIVE NUTS add; “We jumped at the chance to develop ideas for the Challenge rebrand. With our character designer we developed a series of different characters as illustrations which portray the wide range of shows on Challenge. Each character had to be an enthusiast in their own niche of programmes while also working together as a group.”

      The new look for Challenge was created by CREATIVE NUTS. They were modelled using Cinema4D. The idents were then finished in After Effects.
