Strike Back Series 4 in 2013

The Emmy nominated hit action series STRIKE BACK will return to Sky1 HD in 2013 for a fourth series of ten brand new episodes, shot on location in South Africa and Hungary.

The fourth series will once again be a co-production between Sky and CINEMAX/HBO and will be produced by Left Bank Pictures. The series was commissioned and will be Executive Produced by Sky’s Huw Kennair-Jones, Commissioning Editor, Drama. Left Bank’s Andy Harries will return as Executive Producer along with Series Producer Michael Casey and Head of Production Marigo Kehoe.

Also returning for Series Four are Director Michael Bassett (Silent Hill: Revelation 3D) and writers Simon Burke (Persuasion), James Dormer (MI-5) and Richard Zajdlic (EastEnders.) Additional directors and writers will be announced as they are confirmed. In addition, STRIKE BACK’s confidential consultants who work in the field of counterterrorism will return for the new series. Their expertise is a resource for story, lingo, procedure, accuracy, character development and regional issues, providing an insight to the highly secretive world of ‘Black Ops.’ They also train the cast in battle tactics, weapons and fighting, as the lead actors do the majority of their own stunts.

Due to plot spoilers for upcoming episodes, Season Four cast members will be announced at a later date.

Recently nominated for an Emmy in the category of ‘Outstanding Main Title Design,’ STRIKE BACK was the first collaboration between Sky and CINEMAX/HBO. Debuting on Sky1HD in 2011, viewers were introduced to a pair of operatives in the stealth counterterrorism unit Section 20: Sergeant Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester), an exceptional British Special Forces (SBS) soldier, and the less-conventional Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton), a former U.S. Delta Force member.

On the return of STRIKE BACK for a fourth series, Huw Kennair-Jones, Sky’s Commissioning Editor, Drama said:"We’re really excited to be welcoming Scott, Stonebridge and the Section 20 team back for another series of STRIKE BACK, and thrilled to be working with HBO/ CINEMAX again to give UK audiences another series of explosive, home grown action adventure."

Series Three of STRIKE BACK saw the team track nuclear triggers stolen by a powerful businessman with dangerous geopolitical ambitions, while the two lead characters faced personal challenges and contended with the pressures of their high-stress work.

In addition to Philip Winchester (Crusoe, Camelot) and Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom, Gangster Squad, 300: The Battle for Artemesia,) the cast of STRIKE BACK Series Three included Rhashan Stone (Episodes) and Michelle Lukes (Alexander.) Series Three guest stars included Rhona Mitra (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans,) Charles Dance (HBO’s Game of Thrones,) Vincent Regan (Snow White and the Huntsman,) Liam Garrigan (Pillars of the Earth) and Shane Taylor (Band of Brothers.)

Series Three of STRIKE BACK is currently airing on Sky1 HD, concluding its run in November.
