- Sky wins Bundesliga contract through to 2021
Games of Thrones returned to Sky Atlantic this Monday 25th and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
Season 6 opened with a bang, amongst a flurry of anticipation, and secured the biggest ever viewing figures for a Sky drama. The 2am simulcast saw a massive 60,000 avid fans tune in to watch live which later reached over 1.4 million with others catching up throughout the day. The 9pm slot was also strong at over 816,000 with viewers keen to find out the fate of Jon Snow. With a combined viewing of 2.19 million, this hotly anticipated season has superseded the previous record set by series 5 last year of 1.6 million.
Sky is expecting to see an uplift of around 70% with catch up included on the consolidation reports.
Despite the new series being underway, it’s not too late to learn your Lannister’s from your Stark’s. You can watch the first 5 seasons available now On Demand or view yesterday’s episode on Catch Up.
