A+E Networks’ new channel is now available to the 1.9 million Freesat homes. The announcement came six weeks after the successful launch on Freeview (Channel 83), Sky (Channel 565) and as a TV Everywhere service www.blaze.tv/catchup.
Heather Jones, UK General Manager, A+E Networks, said: “We are very excited to bring BLAZE to a further 1.9 million homes via Freesat. We are delighted with how audiences are embracing the array of shows on BLAZE, with much of our content free-to-air exclusives.”
With the launch of BLAZE on Freesat, the channel is now available to nearly 21 million viewers on UK free-to-air platforms. It is also available to over 12.4 million Sky subscribers.
Over 3m viewers have thus far sampled the channel. It has steadily grown by an average of 13% each week as BLAZE builds a bigger and more loyal audience – viewers watch nearly 1 hour a day of BLAZE (58 minutes) which is already longer than other established competitors. BLAZE has struck a particular chord with its M25-54 audience who watch the channel for longer each day (66 minutes) than other free-to-air competitors.
American Restoration was introduced into the schedule several weeks after launch and has been one of the channel’s fastest growing titles, achieving a top audience of 51k and taking 3rd place in the top programmes since launch
Topping the highest ratings programmes list is Mountain Men with 63k and Storage Wars with 56k.
