Sky Wins Rights to Serie A for Seasons 2018-2021

266 games per season to air live and exclusively on Sky

  • Sky to broadcast 7 out of 10 games per match-day
  • Serie A to be available across different Sky platforms – satellite, DTT and over fibre – for the first time ever
  • Matches will be available in UHD on Sky Q
  • Rights join an incredible sports offering in Italy that also features the new Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Formula 1 and Moto GP

Sky has acquired exclusive rights to broadcast 266 live games per season for the 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons of Serie A, Italy’s top domestic league. The new deal means that Sky Sports in Italy will be the exclusive home to 7 games out of 10 on each match-day – more than twice as many exclusive matches versus today – and will feature 16 of the 20 biggest matches each season. Under the terms of the new deal, Sky will pay around a third less for each exclusive match versus the current agreement.

Each week, Sky customers will enjoy two early kick-off matches on Saturdays (at 3pm and 6 pm), two Sunday afternoon matches at 3pm, the 6pm fixture, in addition to the Sunday evening late kick-off match at 8.30pm and the Monday Night match at 8.30pm.

For the first time ever, football fans will be able to watch the Italian championship in the way that’s most convenient to them as Sky’s Serie A will be shown across different technology platforms: not only via satellite but also through digital terrestrial television (DTT), streamed via NOW TV, and across fibre, continuing Sky’s focus on taking our services to the customer. Sky Q customers will also be able to watch the matches in UHD for an unprecedented and immersive viewing quality.

The Serie A rights will add to the already extensive sports offer available on Sky that for upcoming three-year period including majority exclusive UEFA Champions League, Formula1, Europa League and Moto GP coverage.
