Sony Pictures Television Networks Launches Sony Crime Channel In The UK

Sony Crime Channel, will be the network’s second Free-To-Air channel

The channel will debut on Tuesday 6th February as SPTN merges True Crime with Sony Channel and rebrands into Sony Crime Channel. The channel will launch on Free-To-Air and be available on Freeview 60, YouView 60, Sky 157 and will launch later in the month on Freesat 143 (from 13th February).

Sony Crime Channel will be SPTNs second Sony-branded Free-To-Air channel in the territory after the successful launch of Sony Movie Channel in January 2017 which is currently the No. 2 film channel in the UK.

Sony Crime Channel will offer audiences a specially curated schedule full of the best of scripted and non-scripted entertainment from the crime genre.

Sony Crime Channel launches with an exciting line-up including the Free-To-Air premiere of Lionsgate International’s Emmy Award-winning series, Orange is the New Black (s1-4); Jed Mercutio’s award-winning police corruption drama Line of Duty (S1-3); the UK premiere of Real Detective North of the Border; and crime series stalwarts such as Person of Interest, CSI, Deadly Women, Hustle and Law & Order.

The SPTN UK channel brands include movie channels Sony Movie Channel, Movies4Men and True Movies; entertainment channels Sony Crime Channel, True Entertainment and truTV; kids’ channels POP, Tiny Pop and POP MAX as well music channels including The Vault, Scuzz, Starz, Chart Show and Chart Show Hits. Operating across the Sky, Virgin, Freeview and Freesat platforms, SPTN UK boasts a current programming slate that includes top-rated daytime dramas, landmark series, critically acclaimed primetime dramas, comedies and films.
