TLC UK has its most successful year

Most successful year since launch for TLC UK

TLC in the UK has kicked off 2016 with a bang after a surge in ratings last year saw the channel grow by more than one fifth amongst Pay Women (YoY 2015 vs. 2014) making the channel the fastest growing Pay Entertainment Channel for Women* in 2015.

Year on Year, TLC’s growth in share lept up 23% amongst Pay Women and 17% amongst All Adults securing its place as the 6th biggest Pay Entertainment Channel for Women in 2015.

“TLC in the UK will be turning three years old in April and we are looking to commission ideas that scare us; ideas that have the power to drive the conversation and prove unmissable to our audience.”

Clare Laycock, VP, Head of Channel TLC

TLC UK attributes its success to great content and a broad mix of shows that are revelatory, stimulating and uplifting. The top ten titles of 2015 (based on occurrence) reflect the breadth of the TLC brand; they include the thought-provoking UK original documentaries Katie Hopkins: My Fat StoryToo Ugly For Love?, Jodie Marsh Is On Benefits and Jodie Marsh On… Women Who Pay For Sex, the long-running US reality franchises Cake BossSay Yes To The DressLittle Couple and the glossy US scripted programme Devious Maids.

TLC UK is looking to build on its success and is calling for more original, outspoken and noisy programming ideas in 2016, both singles and series.

Clare Laycock, VP, Head of Channel TLC says “TLC in the UK will be turning three years old in April and we are looking to commission ideas that scare us; ideas that have the power to drive the conversation and prove unmissable to our audience.

Never one to stand still, we have already kicked off 2016 with our new brand campaign Fear.Less, celebrating the brave, the outspoken and the strong. Fear.Less isn’t about climbing Everest or taking up Karate – it’s about asking for what we want, putting it out there, taking a chance and saying what we honestly think.”

TLC can be found on Sky channel 125.
