Do Somthing Brilliant, Community Channel’s flagship campaign, funded by the Big Lottery Fund is launching Do#SomethingBrilliant Week – set to take place from May 26th.
Built around the theme of sharing brilliant things – from experiences of taking part in local groups, to the brilliant things happening in your town or the brilliant person in your community. Supported with a week of original programming on Community Channel, and the Share # Something Brilliant competition online, Do #SomethingBrilliant Week reaches out to everyone in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to inspire others by sharing their brilliant things on www.dosomethingbrilliant.co.uk, Facebook and Twitter.
All around us there are stories waiting to be told and shared – stories celebrating the people doing brilliant things for their community or neighbours but who never get the recognition they deserve. Through the Do #SomethingBrilliant Week we aim to inspire and pioneer a new way of thinking about doing good and social action. The campaign engages people to do something brilliant – for the good of themselves and their communities – and share it to celebrate what makes the UK brilliant for us all.

Media partners supporting Do Something Brilliant Week are drawn from Media Trust’s thirty corporate members including leading broadcasters, newspaper groups, digital publishers, social media platforms and advertisers.
Alongside this a week of original programming, including the five-part seriesThis Is Brilliant, showcasing the best stories from over forty episodes of theBrilliant TV series, will broadcast on Community Channel.
Also launching on May 26, the Share #SomethingBrilliant competition, will award the most brilliant story or person who has made a difference for a community. The winner (alongside the nominator) will both receive the Apple iPad Air 2 and will be filmed for a My Brilliant Moment on Community Channel. All entries should be submitted onwww.dosomethingbrilliant.co.uk/share by June 5 and the winner will be announced on June 10th.
Do Something Brilliant reached over 25 million people through its launch campaign and has inspired people to do thousands of brilliant things. It provides hundreds of charities and community groups with ways to raise their profile, reach new audiences and is inspire positive social action.

It broadcasts entertaining stories, inspiring series and pioneering documentaries that encourage viewers to Do #SomethingBrilliant to change their world. Community Channel broadcasts on Freeview 63, Sky 539, Virgin 233, Freesat 651, live online via www.tvplayer.com and www.tvguide.co.uk with catch-up through our website, YouTube, BT Vision and BBC iPlayer.
