The Grand Slam of Darts returns to Sky Sports this November for another action packed 9 days of thrilling darts action. This will be the 12th staging of the prestigious tournament that see’s a stellar line up of players on show each year.
Sky Media are proud to present the opportunity to become the broadcast sponsor of this captivating darts tournament that offers the ability to target a large ABC1 Men audience.
The Grand Slam of Darts is one of the standout events in the darts calendar. With the tournament taking place just a month before the PDC World Darts Championship begins, it offers the opportunity for the players to hone in their skills and practice in front of sold out crowd on the world stage for the last time. It also offers Sky Sports viewers a glimpse of the in-form players and rising stars of the sport ahead of the final tournament of the year.
A maximum of 16 players can qualify for the Grand Slam of Darts through TV tournaments. If in the event the list is less than 16 players there is a reserve list based on the winners of the European Tour events, Players Championship tournaments and UK Open Qualifiers. For the first time in event history the tournament will not take place at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall meaning a change of scenery for the players, which could make the outcome more unpredictable and add an extra dimension to the tournament. As expected world No.1 Michael Van Gerwen has enjoyed success in this tournament, defeating Peter Wright in last year’s final 16-12 on his way to winning for a third consecutive year, pocketing the £110,000 prize money in the process.
