Transfer Window Sponsorship on Sky Sports

The Transfer Window is a truly cross-platform opportunity that has three key platforms; broadcast, digital & social.

The Opportunity

Sky Media is delighted to offer the exclusive opportunity to be lead partner of Sky Sports News coverage of the Transfer Window and ownership of the iconic Transfer Deadline Day; hosted by the legendary Jim White. Sky Media is looking for a partner for the January and August Transfer Windows.

The Transfer Window is a truly cross-platform opportunity for a brand to partner with Sky Sports. This opportunity has three key platforms – Broadcast, Digital & Social. With more Transfer Window programming playing out than ever before, this January promises to be the biggest transfer window yet. Sky Sports News is the go to place to keep on top of all the breaking news and undisputed home of Deadline Day. Also for the first time ever this will  incorporate a audio podcast sponsorship.


Across Sky Sports News the sponsor will receive the following in-programme integration. This will be created and implemented by the Sky Sports News editorial team.

Transfer Centre sponsorship:

  • Sponsor branded ‘Transfer Centre’ Clock within all broadcast updates – 5 x 5 second credits per half hour show
  • Transfer Zone ‘Powered By…’ splash screen logo placement (approx. 60 playouts per window)
  • Transfer Deadline Day Clock – 10 x 5 second impressions from 06:00-23:00 on 31st January 2018 and 1st August 2018.


Transfer Centre sponsorship:  Mix of display ad units on skysports.com/transfercentre per window including:

  • Brand Logo (100% SOV)
  • Billboard/Leaderboard – 3,000,000 impressions
  • MPU – 3,000,000 impressions
  • Mobile Banner – 6,000,000 impressions
  • 5” Video Pre-Roll (100% SOV)

The Transfer Window partner will also receive ownership of the Football section and Transfer Centre on Deadline Day :

  • 2 x 24 hour Roadblock of Sky Sports Football & Sky Sports Transfer Centre sections (Billboard, MPU & Mobile Banner)


The partner has the opportunity to activate the following opportunities depending on budget and brief. More information is available upon request for any of the below, but exclusively is offered  to the Transfer Window partner brand.

Twitter Amplify – in partnership with Twitter, Sky Sports News Transfer Window clips (near live) are promoted to a targeted audience carrying sponsor pre-roll (6 seconds).

Facebook Live – in partnership with Facebook, Sky Sports News Transfer Window clips (live) are pushed out to Sky Sports followers. Users can then watch and share comments. Sponsors can be referenced, integrated or credited within the post.

Diagonal View – can respond to specific briefs in order to create bespoke organic content, appropriate for the sponsor’s brand. They can promote on their popular social channel, Football Daily. This channel has over 4.2 million Facebook followers and 1.1 million YouTube subscribers.

Podcast Audio Sponsorship

Following the growth of podcasts across Sky, for the first time in 2018 Sky Sports News will be producing a ‘Transfer Talk’ Podcast. The audio Sponsorship will, subject to channel head approval, include verbal reference to the partnership at the beginning, middle and end. This will amplify the association further for the Transfer Window partner brand.

  • Estimated to exceed the current most popular podcast ‘Sunday Supplement’ and play out 350,000 times in January 2018.
