The Content

The U.S. Open is the second of the four major golf tournaments in the calendar.  The U.S. Open course changes each year, with the 2018 event taking place at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, New York. The course has previously held the U.S. Open 4 times, and despite being slightly shorter with only two par 5 holes on the course, Shinnecock Hills is notoriously difficult which always brings out the best in the players.

Last year’s U.S. Open at Erin Hills, saw Brooks Koepka lift his first ever major trophy. The 27 year old American shot a final round of 5 under par to secure a 4 shot lead over Hideki Matsuyama. Koepka is one of many young talents making a name for himself on the circuit. England’s Tommy Fleetwood will also be one to watch in the 2018 U.S. Open, after securing his place in history by becoming the 2017 Race to Dubai Champion.

The heritage and prestige of the event attracts the best players from around the World including Rory Mcllroy, Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods and the defending champion Brooks Koepka. Returning to golf after multiple back surgeries and other complications, Tiger Woods will be looking to secure his place in history to become four-time U.S. Open Champion, alongside some of the greats such as Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus.

Sky Sports’ exclusive coverage of the U.S. Open will feature a stellar line-up of talent such as Butch Harmon and Colin Montgomerie bringing viewers the best analysis of every tee, fairway and green.
